Click to see a larger imageHelen is a free lance harpist and harp teacher with a thriving teaching practice of over 30 students stretching from Cirencester in the West to Lincoln in the East, with a pass rate of 100% with ABRSM. Helen studies with world famous virtuoso harpist David Watkins and David is happy to endorse Helen-Elizabeth's teaching practice. All of Helen-Elizabeth's students have the chance to study in a master class or private lesson situation with David on a termly basis.

Helen runs a Harp Ensemble of 8 harpists called HARPZ  The Derbyshire Harp Ensemble and Junior Harpz. She also performs as a duo with Harpist Elin Lloyd and is the director of the International Derbyshire Harp Festival.

Helen gained experience of the harp making business during the eight years she worked for Clive Morley Harps as a Sales Manager prior to going freelance in November 2008.

Repertoire is mixed ranging from classical, to modern popular and folk music. If a client has a specific piece in mind then I am very happy to add it to my existing repertoire.

Helen-Elizabeth and her students take part in a wide range of fund raising activities for charity and in 2007 raised over £750.00 for Kirk Langley Church funds, they have also supported Marie Curie Cancer Care, Guide Dogs for the Blind, The MS Society to name but a few.

Trad Music at the Red LionHelen and her friends can be seen playing at a traditional session at the Red Lion at Hollington near Ashbourne most Thursday evenings from 9pm

Paul is the other half of the Little Welsh Shops creative energy (He is also Helens husband) A qualified engineer and former infantry soldier having served in Kosovo and Afghanistan! he now devotes his skills to other causes such as studying the manufacture, design, maintainance and history of both pedal and folk harps, fixing a buzzing harp, regulating or restoring the appearance of an old or pre-loved harp is what he enjoys most.


Paul is also expertly knowledgable in the handling and transportation of all types of harp and is available anytime for all non harp-playing related enquiries! having worked with harp makers and harpists for many years there's not much he doesnt know about the harp....but is always willing to learn that bit more.

A keen military historian Paul is also a passionate countryman and Shire horse enthusiast.
